Anatomy
Weekly Tech Links provides a list of seven links, a rating, and a brief description each week, updated on Sundays. All the links in a post are referred to as a “dump”, or a collection.
The order of the links in the collection are organized, in a bulleted list, by type:
- Link 1 — Blogosphere: Blog posts come and go. But some of them stay.
- Link 2 — Community: Every forum you pass into thinks it’s in its own world.
- Link 3 — Freeware: Because shareware is just never worth the $24.99. Ever.
- Link 4 — Games: Think you’ve been addicted to every game out there? Not yet.
- Link 5 — Random: Why can’t these links behave and categorize themselves?
- Link 6 — Wiki: Where there’s a will, there’s a wiki. Every… single… time.
- Link 7 — YouTube: If you haven’t seen this video, you aren’t complete.
Each link is rated with one to three emoticons, each having a separate meaning:

So, for example, if a link had the rating
, that would mean that the site or content has been recently created, personal discretion is advised (may be unacceptable for children), and is quite funny.
Sometimes, due to circumstances beyond our control, a site we’ve chosen to feature becomes permanently unavailable. If you happen to find a featured link that has become unavailable, is a redirect, or is otherwise defunct or broken, please don’t hesitate to let us know. Broken external links that can not be traced to another site are marked thusly.
